2015 would see the introduction of the OTTWA Classics for Standardbreds along with Thoroughbreds held in conjunction with the SHCWA and SPPHAWA as co-hosts of the night time event indoors at Brookleigh Equestrian Estate. Major sponsor RWWA in partnership with OTTWA designed the series to promote the two race codes as ridden horses in an alternative lifestyle once retiring from the race track. The following year, the Standardbreds were once again invited to join the Thoroughbreds for the 2016 feature at the Serpentine Show grounds, again hosted by the SHCWA. It would be in 2017 that SPPHAWA ventured out with the running of this event on their own  being the Standardbred Festival weekend and followed this format again in 2018 . The Dual Code platform was launched by SPPHAWA in November 2019 with the running of the Dual Code Spectacular and OTTWA Classics for both breeds. Since the Dual Code brand was introduced, the popularity of the event has grown enormously and touted as most competitors as the “ event not to miss”. SPPHAWA not only prides itself  on their ability to produce such a high-class event but also is indebted to OTTWA for the continual support we receive by providing the highest prize pool on offer for these two breeds at any ridden hack show in this state.

We engage a panel of three judges (preferably Eastern States) to adjudicate for these classics, where we ask them to judge the breed as any normal ridden horse. Transitions should be clean with no evidence of pacing and the ability to carry themselves in a nice outline, with a correct amount of roundness throughout all gaits.

The Standardbreds have two Classic levels with the Open Classic for horses who have an established canter and education. A Walk/Trot Classic is also on offer to those horses in the early education stages or have not yet mastered the Canter gait.

The winner of the class should display the correct confirmation once stripped and appeal to the eye as a horse that has made a successful transition from track to show horse. Any injuries, scars or blemishes sustained during racing that are not impeding the horse’s movement are generally overlooked in this event.

In 2021 SPPHAWA introduced the Partbred Thoroughbred classic to this show program and it has run as the Partbred Thoroughbred Ultimate Classic since its inception with generous sponsors that have come on board for the running of this class. In 2023 it was renamed as the 'Keralyn Frazer Memorial Classic' in honour of well respected and loved show horse competitor and successful breeder of Partbred Thoroughbreds, Keralyn Frazer.
